Speaker Somnath Chatterjee may withdraw from the CPI(M)’s central committee. ‘‘It is up to my party leaders to decide whether I should resign. Of course, I will always remain a member of the CPI(M),’’ the Speaker said.That Chatterjee has not got over the ‘‘unprecedented attack’’ on the Speaker’s chair by Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee-led Opposition is quite evident. ‘‘ No one can ask the Speaker to resign from his party. But I may not attend the Central Committee meetings,’’ Chatterjee said.
