Non-Conventional Energy Minister Vilas Muttamwar today found an instant convert to alternative fuel in Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.

Making a rather unconventional suggestion to Muttamwar, Chatterjee, releasing the Ministry’s first newsletter Akshay Urja, volunteered: ‘‘You can start a non-conventional energy project from my Bolpur Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal.”

The Ministry’s monthly newsletter is aimed at creating awareness on the use of non-conventional energy sources and reaching to districts the new initiatives undertaken by state governments for popularising cost-effective technologies including solar, wind, biomass and hydro sources.
