A day after the police filed a case against Ashok Todi and his brother-in-law Santosh Murarka for allegedly separating the latter’s daughter, Spriha Murarka, and her husband Tarapada Hazra, Spriha said she had no intention of marrying her former driver. “She reportedly told the magistrate that she was lured by Tarapada to go to Patashpur and that she was somehow intoxicated before she signed the marriage registration documents. She also said that she did not want to return to her husband,” police sources said. Later, she told mediapersons that Tarapada was a fraud. “He only forced and lured me to go to Patashpur. My father and uncle went there to rescue me. I returned on my own,” she said. Spriha’s lawyer Sudhir Pramanik said his client has expressed her desire to file a divorce against Tarapada.
