CHANDIGARH, Nov 13: Shivalik Public School-41 capped in a brilliant performance to win the under-14 boys title in the Chandigarh State Inter-School football championship which concluded at Government Model Senior Secondary School-22 today. SPS-41 outplayed Govt Model School-22, 2-1 to win the trophy for the fifth consecutive year.

The eventual winners shot into the lead in the 16th minute when Harpreet scored off a pass from Jaspal while Inderpreet equalised for GMSSS-22 in the 38th. The teams were tied 1-1 each at the end of the stipulated period. In the extra time Jaspal got the golden goal for SPS-41 in the 11th minute.

Guru Nanak Public School-36 beat Govt High School-29, 5-1 to win third position in the meet. Harkesh netted three goals (not hat-trick) while Jasmeet and Dhasmesh got one each for the winners. Ravinder shot one back for GHS-29.

GGSSS-8 excel
In the girls under-19 section, Govt Girls School-8 beat Govt High School-11 by a solitary goal to bag the first position.

Manpreet scored match-winner in the 15th minute. SPS-41 took the third place by defeating Govt School-38, 1-0. Gagan Sidhu netted for SPS-41.

SBI trials
Trials to select State Bank of India, Chandigarh circle team for the forthcoming Inter-Circle cricket tournament to be held in New Delhi from November 26, will be held on November 18 at 10 a.m., at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium.
