CHENNAI, March 29: Vinod Sridhar defeated Manoj Mahadevan 6-0 6-3 in the final of the Indian Oil Servo Singles Tennis Championship at the Krishnan Tennis Centre here today.

Sridhar (TN), who toppled top seed Marcus Hilpert in the quarter-final, was merciless in his demolition. Mahadevan erred repeatedly and was sluggish in his returns. His performance was so poor that he messed up with some easy shots, which either landed in net or went too long during the 45-minute encounter.

For his efforts, Sridhar took home Rs 45,000 while Mahadevan had to be content with Rs

25,000.
