BANGALORE, April 2: India’s pace ace Javagal Srinath scotched rumours that his bowling arm was playing up again and that was why he had been kept out of the on-going triangular series. "I am confident of playing in the final of the triangular series to be held in Delhi on April 14," Srinath said emphatically.

"I decided to take more rest as the side injury I suffered during the Calcutta Test had not completely healed and I was not too comfortable when I bowled in the one-dayer at Kochi. I could not fully stretch out and as such, decided to give more time for the injury to heal," Srinath told The Indian Express Thursday night.

"I want to make it clear that my right shoulder is in perfect shape," he emphasised. "The side muscle tear normally takes about two to three weeks to heal and considering the fact I was feeling fine after skipping the Bangalore Test, I decided to play at Kochi. I am not 100 per cent fit. Ten days rest should work wonders," explained Srinath.

"I will go to Delhi on April 11 andwill bowl in the nets. My playing in the final will depend on how I feel during the nets, but I am confident," Srinath asserted. Dismissing reports that he may even have to skip the Sharjah tourney, Srinath said that the injury to his side had responded well to the treatment. "It is premature to say that I have to miss the Sharjah tourney."
