AHMEDABAD, Jan 21: It’s pure science — a body extended beyond it’s elastic limit fails to recoil. Prahlad Srinath was a perfect analogy to that physics law in his quarter-final match of the Gold Flake Aces ITF Futures Tennis Tournament at the AGETA courts today.
The walking wounded Indian went close to that limit in his pre-quarterfinal match against qualifier Josep Kaskak of Slovakia. He was over stretched. Inference — a static display which resulted in a 6-7 (2), 4-6 loss for the Indian.
Moreover, it was day when the courts resembled a physio’s room. Out of the four quarter-finals played, two saw players conceding matches due to injury. Qualifier Scot Barron of Ireland pulled out of his match against Amir Hadad of Israel after leading 5-7, 6-2, 3-2 while Simon Larose was trailing 6-7, 0-3 against third seed Boris Borgula when he gave in.
