PUNE, Jan 18: SSPMS (D) and St. Joseph’s High School, Kirkee, entered the semifinal after defeating Nutan English School (Tilak Road) and Kalmadi Karnataka High School respectively in the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj inter-school cricket tournament organised by SSPMS (D) and Junior College at their ground here yesterday.

SSPMS (D): 190 in 25 overs (Chetan Suryavanshi 124, Prshant Naik 48, Ketan Bidve 4/18) bt Nutan English School (Tilak Road): 103 in 19 overs (Pushkar Bhide 19, Rohit Kakade 15, Sarang Dungule 3/19, Indranil Danve 2/12, Saurabh Sahane 2/11). SSPMS (D): 169/8 in 21 overs (Vijay Kori 50, Indranil Danve 20, Amin Beig 2/28, Pwar 2/12, Hanumanth Natekar 2/38) bt Rajiv Gandhi Vidyalay Nehrunagar: 53 all out in 16 overs (Shiv Kumar 15, Vikas Sharma 4/15, Vishal Meghnani 2/16). Mahesh More of Telco `A’ knocked a useful 89 to enable his team get a comprehensive 93 run win over AFK in the Late Rupyam Chaterjee Memorial Industrial Cricket Tournament organised by Industrial Sports Association (ISA) at Bajaj Auto ground here today.

The winners received cash prize of Rs. 3,500 while Rs. 2,500 went to the runners-up. Mohanraj Sagam of 512 Army Base Workshop was declared the `Best Batsman’ of the tournament while Dyaneshwar Jagdale of Ammunition Factory Kirkee received `Best Bowler’ trophy from the Maharashtra State team captain Surendra Bhave.
