St Xavier’s, Century enter final

Mumbai, March 12: St Xavier’s Sports Club and Century Rayon recorded contrasting victories to enter the final of the Don Bosco Youth Centre-organsied 1st veterans’ football tournament. In the semi-finals played at the St Joseph’s Technical ground (Kurla) on Sunday, St Xavier’s edged past RCF 6-4, via tie-breaker. The teams were locked 1-1 after full-time. Century Rayons prevailed over CAS Rose (Sewri) by a brace of goals.

All the clubs affiliated to the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) can collect their affiliation, entry and registration forms from Cooperage or St Xavier’s Ground (Parel) between 5 and 6 p.m. The clubs should submit the forms at the same venues on or before the date mentioned in the MDFA circular dated March 1.

Shalia stretched

Shaila Jadhav of LIC and Supriya Harshe of RBI entered the second round of the 5th Mayor Cup carrom tournament for women, organised by the Mumbai District Carrom Association at the Brihan Mumbai Mahanagar Palika, Azad Maidan, on Sunday.
