
MUMBAI, August 29: The State Cabinet today decided to recognise about 38 private educational institutions, which had applied to function as industrial training institutes (ITIs).
Chief Minister Manohar Joshi said there were 236 non-aided ITIs in the State with a total capacity to train 20,000 students.
In yet another decision the State Cabinet approved proposal for formation of Annasaheb Patil Corporation to provide financial aid to economically backward sections.The corporation would provide loans to educated unemployed in State apart from working towards general uplift of economically weaker sections.The State Government would be spending Rs 50 crore for the corporation, which was a long pending demand. Named after the leader of Mathadi workers, it would have 15 directors on its board.
