JAIPUR: Police today claimed to have made one more arrest in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 26-year-old woman in a Rajasthan university hostel here last month. The accused, Vivek Vishnoi, was nabbed in Ganganagar and brought here yesterday, police said.

Star CEO Basu challenges summons

NEW DELHI: The Star TV chief executive in India, Rathikant Basu, today challenged in the Delhi High Court the summons issued to him by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) in a case relating to alleged telecast of obscene programmes on the TV network. Arguing for the petitioner, Arun Jaitley, submitted that Basu has no control over the telecast of alleged obscene films on the Star TV network.

ED gets HC notice in FERA case

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court today issued notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the bail plea of Keshav Bangur, ex-vice-chairman of Bank of Rajasthan (BoR), in an alleged FERA violation case. NEW DELHI: A London-based Brazilian businessman, A E Pinto, was questioned by the London police and his house raided on charges of his involvement in the Rs 133-cr urea import scam, CBI sources said today. Pinto, owner of Brazil Trading Corporation, acting as Karsan’s agent, is alleged to have introduced Sambasiva Rao, accused in the case, to officials of that company.
