Station in-charge suspended over Assam firing

The Assam government has placed under suspension SN Medhi, the officer in-charge of Moirabari police station in Morigaon district, over an incident of firing that

left three persons including two minors dead and several injured on Saturday.

The state government has also appointed a high-level inquiry committee, to be headed by an additional chief secretary, to probe the firing incident.
