The man in the centre of the latest TV sting controversy will have some explaining to do to the team over the next few days. For, according to the BCCI, North Zone selector Bhupinder Singh (Sr) is scheduled to reach Dhaka late tonight with chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar.

Bhupinder was the real ‘star’ of the TV sting, alleging that Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly did not give skipper Rahul Dravid adequate support during the World Cup as they had harboured captaincy ambitions of their own. He had also accused the two of splitting the team into factions and blamed Chappell for a “divide-and-rule” policy.

Apparently, the BCCI hopes that Bhupinder will clarify his remarks and the background in which they were made to soothe some ruffled feathers within the team. “Mr Dilip Vengsarkar and Mr Bhupinder Singh (Sr.), members of (the) selection committee will be reaching Bangladesh tonight,” was the terse BCCI line.
