CHANDIGARH, Jan 25: The first national level Student Software Contest will be organised by the Computer Society of India (CSI) on April 26. Chandigarh is one of the test centres for the contest.
The winning team will be sponsored for the South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation International Software Competition (SEARCC) to be held in Australia, during the SEARCC 1998 convention in the first week of July 1998.
The secretary of the Chandigarh chapter of the Computer Society, Jarnail Singh, said teams would be short listed on the basis of their performance.
Two teams would be selected from the short listed teams by conducting a national contest.
The programming language for software contest will be QBASIC. All institution are eligible to nominate a team of three students who must be born after January 1, 1981. There is no entrance fees for the participants.
