Surendra Shetty, father of actress Shilpa Shetty, surrendered to Umra police on Friday, after which he was interrogated by the investigating agency. He will be presented before the Surat court on Saturday, where the police will seek further remand.Though Surendra was scheduled to reach Umra police station at 10 am, he arrived 15 minutes before schedule. He was accompanied by his younger brother Narendra Shetty and his lawyer Kalpesh Desai.Surendra Shetty seemed a bit nervous, but he walked straight to the Investigating Officer B.V. Ramani’s cabin ignoring mediapersons waiting for him outside the police station. Shetty had to wait for Ramani, who arrived an hour-and-a-half late. Sources said that Surendra Shetty was arrested in the morning and he was interrogated throughout the day.Surendra and Sunanda got a transit bail from a Mumbai court which asked them to move Surat court for regular bail. Surendra’s bail was rejected by Surat court and Gujarat HC. Sunanda’s bail will be heard tomorrow.
