Suspense over — Priyanka’s son is named Rehan

NEW DELHI, OCT 3: The suspense is over. So are the endless speculative tales about the name the millennium baby of the Nehru-Gandhi family will have. Priyanka and Robert Vadra’s son has been named Rehan.

Ever since the baby was born, Congress circles have been debating whether the boy would be given his maternal grandfather Rajiv’s name. Some even guessed the name back to Rajiv’s great-grandfather, Motilal Nehru.

Rehan is a Parsi name which means compassion. So if the name has any Gandhi connection, it is with Feroze Gandhi, a Parsi. Rehan was born on August 29 at New Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
