Symmo may tour Pak

Twenty-four hours after Andrew Symonds backed out from the Pakistan tour, perhaps paving the way for a million-dollar deal in the IPL, the Australian all-rounder has given his franchise a little scare by back-tracking on his statement. “The door is ajar but you know where I stand eventually,” Symonds said on Thursday. That’s quite a deviation from his vehement ‘no’ to touring Pak before the auction.

Not jealous, says Ponting: His skipper Ricky Ponting, however, said the timing of his announcement was a coincidence. Ponting denied he’s a bit jealous of the money that Symonds got. “No, I will have a bit of a laugh and a joke about it.”

Incidentally, Cricket Australia clarified last night that Symonds could not play in the IPL if he decided not to travel to Pakistan. Incidentally, he was on the unavailable list from the start.
