The Human Resource Development Secretary was bitten by the monkey bug this week. R P Aggarwal, usually a composed officer, lost his cool when the TV set in his plush Shastri Bhavan office stopped working. It so happened that a monkey had chewed up the cables to the dish antenna on the terrace. Everyone, from the joint secretary downwards, was pressed into the job of undoing the damage. The next day, langurs—traditionally used to chase away monkeys—were seen in action at the HRD wing in Shastri Bhavan.
