The new defence procurement policy, released by Defence Ministry A K Antony on Friday, is admittedly focused on promoting speedy indigenisation of defence products and ensuring private participation. So much so that Antony emphasised the same in the official release function of the policy last week. However, the cover of the new manual has raised a few eyebrows. All products featured in the cover are defence imports — the Su-30 fighter, a Russian tank, Swedish artillery guns and the British-origin Viraat aircraft carrier!
