The Chinese ambassador to India, Zhang Yan, said terrorism had become a new common challenge that the international community faced and China’s joint military exercise entitled “hand in hand” on counter-terrorism with the 8 Maratha Light Infantry Regiment (MLIR) of the Indian Army was in the right direction.
“While we’ve done quite well in terms of preventing terrorists from entering China, we have been fighting terrorism especially when they tried to sabotage the Olympic Games,” said Zhang.
The ambassador said there were talks in the pipeline on conducting similar Air Force and Naval exercise too.
