The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual co-operation with the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) on the December 10 in Mumbai, with an objective to jointly tackle the challenges arising out of the phase out of quotas. Texprocil is a leading textile export promotion council and CNTAC is an organisation equivalent to the Ministry of Textiles in India. January 1, 2005 will be a momentous day in the annals of world trade in textiles and clothing, when the integration of textiles and clothing sector into multilateral trading system will take place.
