I am 30 years old and have noticed that during winter, my appetite increases. I feel like eating something or the other. Has this something to do with the weather or is it something to worry about?-Neha

Dr Ishi Khosla, clinical nutritionist and director, Whole Foods, says:

It so happens that during winter, the body needs some extra calories to keep warm. For some, it is a stimulus and one feels more active thereafter. There is nothing to worry. The requirement goes up only by about 50-100 calories, which is not much and should not be a concern. However, if you are really worried about gaining weight, fruits, salads and soups can be a healthy substitute.
