I am 41 years old. For the last one year I have been having a tingling sensation while taking a bath. I have been prescribed a tablet called Cetrizine, which helps subside the sensation for some time, but not to any great extent. Please suggest a way out.— Prem Pandey
Dr NP Singh, Prof of Medicine, Maulana Azad Medical College, says:
You are suffering from hypersensitivity of skin. This could be due to multifactorial disorders, including allergic dermatitis and dermographism. It could also be put down to any chemical/extraneous proteins consumed or applied on the body like cosmetics or soaps. Cetrizine is okay for symptomatic relief but investigations are needed for further recommendations. You should also get your blood count and stool examination done to rule out the possibility of worms.
