PUNE, Jan 19: As a part of its contribution to the University of Pune’s golden jubilee celebrations, the Educational Media Research Centre (EMRC) Pune has encompassed the glorious history of the university on celluloid.

The centre has produced two short video films of 10 and 30 minutes duration of which the former has been produced especially for the special guests and dignitaries visiting the varsity.

It gives a brief introduction of the university and its academic activities. The film will be kept at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, said Vishwas Mehendale, EMRC Pune director while speaking to the press persons here today.

The second film of 30 minutes duration gives an insight in the history of the varsity and its development during past 50 years of its existence. The film also gives glimpse of the national facilities at the university campus. Both the films have noted film and stage actress Bhakti Barve Inamdar as the anchor person and narrator.

Mehendale said that the centre had recently got a few proposals for making films for private institutions and establishments.
