The Pune police on Saturday slapped provisions under the Information Technology Act, 2000, on three persons arrested for allegedly installing a webcam in the women’s changing room at a swimming pool in Aranyeshwar. The trio was removed from duty on Sunday.

Pool manager Abhijit Ashok Jambhorkar, receptionist Shraddha Gopal Ghodke and attendant Dilip Suresh Joshi were arrested on Thursday after a victim’s mother lodged a complaint.

A case was filed under IPC Sections 294, 509 and 34. Ghodke was granted bail on Thursday and the others on Friday. However, they were re-arrested. The webcam had been operational only for two days, police said. They also clarified that preliminary investigations indicated the pool did not have any Internet connection. Nor were there any CDs containing images captured by the webcam, as reported by a section of media earlier.
