SRINAGAR, DEC 9: Suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir killed three people overnight in the state but there was no major attack on security forces for the third consecutive day today.

Militants fired upon a patrol party today near Kufer Nullah, Chaderkote. Security forces fired back in self-defence but no was hurt in the incident.

Earlier in the day, security personnel noticed a grenade lying nearHospital crossing in Sopore. It was later defused by experts.

Yesterday, suspected militants killed one person, Mushtaq Ahmad, of Parraypora, at Magam, police said.

In another incident, militants killed a girl, Haseena, daughter of Mohammad Shafi Choee of Bazipora, Ajas, at her home. Police also recovered the body of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Sadipora, Beerwah from the same village.

He was apparently killed because militants suspected him to be an informer.Police are investigating all the cases.
