NEW DELHI, September 24: Defending champions Daulat Ram College retained the Delhi University inter-college kho-kho (women) team title trouncing Indra Gandhi Institute of Physical Education in the final held at Daulat Ram College Sports complex here today. Daulat Ram won 5-6, 7-4, 12-8. The main scorers for the winners were Renu, Abha, Neeru, Indu and Damyanti while Jyoti, Tripta and anjana scored for IGIPESS.In the playoff match for the third place, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College beat Bharti College for Women.In volleyball (women), Janki Devi College retained the team title. Third place went to Lakshmi bai College while Gargi College were place fourth.The Inter-College kabaddi (men) tournament is scheduled to be held at Delhi University Sports Stadium from September 27. Eight Colleges are taking part in the competition.The cross-country (men and women) championship is scheduled to be held at the Delhi University Sports Complex on September 30 at 7 pm. About colleges (men and women) are expected to participate in the competition. Delhi University cross country teams will be selected on the basis of performance of the athletes in the above competition. The inter-university cross country championship will be held at Shivaji University, Kolhapur (Maharashtra) on October 28.
