Indian judoka Tombi Khumujam Devi’s Beijing Olympics campaign lasted only two and a half minutes as she was knocked out in the preliminary round of the women’s 48kg event in Beijing on Saturday.
The Manipuri judoka was outmanoeuvred by Ana Hormigo of Portugal at the USTB Gymnasium.
Divya Tewar, competing in 78kg category, now remains the only Indian judoka in the competition. Tombi had bagged a berth in the Beijing Games by bagging the bronze in the Asian championship, while Divya had made the cut by coming out fifth.
