MUMBAI, December 4: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made arrangements for on the occasion of Mahaparinirvan Day, the death anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, on December 6.Drinking water will be provided through taps provided at 30 places around Chaitya Bhoomi at Shivaji Park from December 4. Three drinking water tankers will also be present at the venue. The BMC has also erected 200 temporary toilets and 50 urinals behind Indu Mills near Kirti Mahavidyalaya. Conservancy staff of the BMC and 100 volunteers of Sulabh International have been deployed to maintain cleanliness at the Shivaji Park beach. A temporary health post has also been erected at the Ranade Road and two ambulances will be stationed near the venue. However, removal of garbage in Mumbai is likely to be affected owing to a holiday to the labour staff of the solid waste management department on December 6.Lakhs of people from all over India are expected to converge at Chaitya Bhoomi to pay homage to the Bharat Ratna.
