.

Telecom regulator Trai is understood to have asked Reliance Infocomm to withdraw its tariff plan for WLL mobile services submitted by it late last year. Trai wrote a two-line letter to Reliance Infocomm asking it to withdraw the Dhirubhai Ambani Pioneer Offer (DAPO) tariff plan but did not elaborate the reason for the action.

When contacted, a Reliance Infocomm spokesperson told PTI, “all our tariff plans are IUC compliant since May 1. The original DAPO was withdrawn as desired by Trai. So we don’t see any reason now for Trai asking us to withdraw the old plan.” “The issue is now irrelevent as all our revised packages are as per the Trai norms on IUC, ”, he added.
