VADODARA, July 16: A training programme on health and family welfare, organised by Vaccine Institute, Vadodara, under a project sponsored by the World Bank was held in the city recently.

According to an institute release, a team of experts had been formed to impart training to individuals and groups, participating in the programme, on various topics of health.

A large number of officials, including those from the collectorate, teachers and workers of the health department, anganwadi, dairies and other co-operatives participated in the camp, the release said.

Even activists of Waghodia Yuvak Mandal, Roshan Vikas Yuvak Mandal of Gothda village, Savli taluka, Shiv Parivar Yuvak Mandal of Chandod village, Dabhoi taluka, Kashivshvanath Yuvak Mandal of Ambar village, Motisherkhi Yuvak Mandal were also imparted training, the release added.

A `Health Baby Contest’ and debates on population explosion, oral rehydration solution and contraceptives were also held during the training camp, the release said, adding that Kamla Nayak, Director, State Insitute of Health and Family Welfare, Ahmedabad also addressed the participants and exhorted them to spread the message of health and family planning among the masses.

District Development Officer Anju Sharma and senior officials of education and health department and collectorate also addressed the participants and guided them about various the activities in the field.
