The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday said it would issue a new order on the interconnect user charge (IUC) for telecom firms during July. Fresh orders would replace the one issued during May, TRAI chairman Pradeep Baijal said after the first of the open house consultations on IUC held by TRAI. He said a final order would be ready by July, based on the feedback emerging from the open houses at Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi that will be held later this month. Baijal said the open houses were being held across the country with stakeholders to encourage a competitive market.
