Tribals attack SC houses in Orissa

DEC 24: Tension prevails in Kotgarh police station area of Orissa’s Kandhamal district following attack by Kandha tribals on the houses of Pana scheduled caste people for the last four days.

According to the sub-collector of Baliguda sub-division, Munis Mudgal, a total of 122 houses in 10 villages under six gram panchayats had been damaged by the tribals between December 20 and 23 last. Some of these houses had also been set on fire, he said.

The affected areas are Marlang, Ora, Gugurmaha, Srirampur, Subarnagiri and Madaguru, the sub-collector said.
