CHANDIGARH, May 8: Everything was the same, the trite ritual called catwalk, attires and designs that disappeared from the ramp as well as the fashion scene ages ago and uninspiring sashaying to the tune of rather “out-of-tune” score. That would be the best way to sum up the AVI Fashion Show held at Tagore Theatre this evening.

The annual show which is an outlet for the students of the AVI School of Fashion and Shoe Technology to show off their designs was a lacklustre affair.

Though the rounds covered the entire gamut of women’s wardrobe, the designs spoke very poorly of the school’s calibre. For they did reflect that neither the institute nor the students were in tune with the latest trends across the fashion realm of the country.

The only solace was the breezy sarongs which brought a whiff of freshness into the otherwise redundant collection displayed by the models. Besides the compere’s enthusiastic announcements which provided some life into the dull evening.
