Two persons were killed and BSP leader Ram Gopal Yadav injured when unidentified assailants fired at a group of people at a shop in Jhulsi here on Sunday, Senior Superintendent of Police Sunil Gupta said.

BSP sources alleged that the shootout was in retaliation to the killing of SP leader Munim Yadav on June 29. They said the assailants were targetting party leader Ram Gopal Yadav, as he was a relative of Ashok Yadav, who was arrested in the Munim murder case.
