CHANDIGARH, Oct 7: Unbeaten half century (60 not out) by Umang enabled Manav Mangal School-21 to beat St Xavier’s School-44 by two-wickets in the under-16 boys group in the Edmund Rice cricket tournament held at St John’s High School-26 here today.

In another match, GMS-35 beat G MS-44 by one wicket. Scores: St Xavier’s-44: 138 for 6 (Sumit 34, Piyush 21, Sandeep 2 for 23); Manav Mangal-21 (Umang 60 n.o., Sandeep, Shantno 16, Animesh 2 for 24). Govt Model-44: 114 in 24 overs (Barinder 27, Sandeep 27, Jasdeep 3 for 12); Govt Model-35: 114 for 9 (Arbinder 27, Prabhjot 18, Barinder 5 for 10).
