SATARA, Nov 15: Tussle between the ruling Nagar Vikas Aghadi headed by Abhaysinhraje Bhosale and the opposition headed by Udayanraje Bhosale in the Satara Municipal Council (SMC) over the issue of congratulating the newly appointed Ministers in the State ministry from Satara resulted in Opposition group walking out of the meeting recently.

Prakash Bedekar, a member of ruling Aghadi in SMC proposed to congratulate the Ministers – Vilasrao Patil (Undalkar), Vikramsinh Patankar and Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar. Adambhai Bagwan, the leader of opposition group proposed to thank the State Government for inducting the Ministers from the district. President Ashok Mone seconded Bedekar’s proposal. Immediately a war of words erupted in the hall between the ruling party and opposition party members resulting in the walk-out of opposition members barring seven opposition members including vice-president. Later, it became clear that they had crossed the floor and joined the Nagar Vikas Aghadi.

There were 25 new proposals to be discussed and passed. But they were passed without reading out in the absence of opposition members.
