India and the US on Thursday sought to find a common ground on issues linked with United Nations reforms, especially the Security Council’s expansion.
Officials shared India’s view on the matter with visiting US advisor on UN reforms, Shirin Tahir-Kheli. The US official, sources said, had an open mind during the discussions, indicating that the US was still evolving its position and that her visit was part of the exercise to formalise its stand before the UN General Assembly meets in September.
Tahir-Kheli held talks with Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran besides meeting other officials in South Block.
