CHANDIGARH, Dec 15: With the Haryana government launching the new computerised attendance system at the Civil Secretariat and the new Secretariat today, most employees showed up for work on time. The system has been installed to record the time of entry and exit of the staff working in these complexes.

According to officials, most officials including the senior IAS officers were seen punching in their digitalised identity cards to record their presence. The government has issued special identity cards to all the employees working in the two complexes. The move is a part of the exercise initiated to disciple the workforce.Earlier, the Haryana Chief Secretary has directed all the Financial Commissioners, Administrative Secretaries, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, all joint secretaries, deputy secretaries and under secretaries of Ministers, all superintendents and deputy superintendents to get their identity cards ready and follow the new system.
