DC holds meeting
District Collector Anil Mukim met senior officials to finalise arrangements for the Daler Mehendi musical evening scheduled to be held on July 11 to raise funds for the cyclone-affected. Committees have been finalised for various arrangements, while some officials have been asked to generate funds for the cause.

Sanskrit forms
The Baroda Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, M S University, has started issuing forms for certificate, diploma, degree and post-graduate degree courses for 1998-99. According to in-charge principal N M Pandey, last date for submitting forms is July 20.

HWP function
The Heavy Water Plant, at a function organised on Tuesday, celebrated its achievements and awards given by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board and the Gujarat Safety Council towards safety performance in the last more than five years. Cyclone aid
Bjp MP from Vadodara Jayaben Thakkar recently presented cheque of Rs 78,810 to Education Minister Anandiben Patel for the cyclone-affected. The amount was raised by members of the BJP women’s wing in Vadodara.

Eye checking
Social and religious organisation Arogya Mandir, Ellora Park, has offered eye examination and cataract operations at concessional rates to poor patients. A statement said on Thursday that the said special arrangements made under Mandir’s Blindness Control Movement would continue till October 15 at the Mandir’s Haribhakti Eye Hospital.

Aid for blind
About 100 visually impaired people would be given various useful gadgets at a function jointly organised by the Blind Welfare Council and Rashtriya Andhjan Mandal, Vadodara at Mahadev Desai Anawil Bhawan Hall, Karelibaug, on Saturday. District Collector Anil Mukim would inaugurate the function, while Lions Club district governor Ramesh Prajapati would be the chief guest on the occasion, besides other dignitaries of the city.
