
Four Army jawans were killed and seven others were injured today when militants blew up a vehicle carrying jawans in Anantnag district of south Kashmir. This is the first major strike by militants after talks between Centre and Hurriyat Conference.
According to agency reports, at least 11 militants were killed in two separate gunbattles in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Nine of them were killed in an ongoing encounter at Kandi in Kupwara this afternoon.
Two more militants were killed in an encounter at Chatti village in Kupwara this morning. One militant was killed in an encounter at Hudabal Aham Sharief in Bandipore.
