BILASPUR, MARCH 24: Deposed president of Himachal Pradesh Non-Gazetted Employees Federation Gopal Dass Verma has decided to launch a mass agitation of employees against the recognition granted by the Dhumal government to the federation led by Ganga Singh, elections to which were held on February 26-27 here.

Talking on telephone with ENS today, Verma said the agitation would be on the pattern of NGOs strike in 1980 which was launched under similar circumstances when the then chief minister Thakur Ram Lal had recognised the faction led by late Romesh Chander Sharma, forcing the government to reverse its decision.

He alleged that the elections were unconstitutional’ and added that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh lobby had compelled Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to recognise the faction led by Ganga Singh. He further claimed that only a handful of employees having leanings towards RSS had participated in the said elections.
