CHANDIGARH, NOV 29: Vikas of DAV College-10 and Kavita of MCM DAV College-36, continued to dominate middle distance events in boys (under-18) and girls (under-22) section, respectively, on the penultimate day of the Chandigarh State Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior athletic meet at the Sector 7 Sports Complex, here today.Vikas, who got gold in the 800 metres yesterday, pocketed his second gold of the meet by winning first place in the 1500-metre, today. He ran a brilliant last lap to clock 4:19.7.Gurjit Singh and Harpal Yadav were second and third, respectively.Kavita also maintained her unbeaten streak in the girls under-22 group by winning gold in 1500m. On the opening day of the meet, Kavita had won gold in the 5000-metre event.In the 1500-metre today, it was start to finish affair for Kavita who clocked 5:36.6, to win gold. Suchi was distant second while Priyanka was third.Other highlight of the day was 100-metre event in under-18 boys section. Jatinderbir clocked 11.2 to win first place. Lakhbir Singh and Ajit Choudhary were second and third, respectively.
