NEW DELHI, January 24: A brilliant spell of off-spin bowling by Vikas Choudhary (4 for 24) helped hosts Delhi Eaglets defeat Minda Group by three wicketsin the ninth BDM Challenge Cup at Ramjas sports complex (West Patel Nagar) here today.

Electing to bat, Minda Group struggled from the beginning as Vikas Choudhary claimed his four wickets in his first five overs to send the opposition on the back-foot. Only Anuj Deewan 32(49b) and Sanjeev Sharma (20: 26b) made any significant contribution.

Delhi Eaglets reached the target in 35.5 overs, losing seven wickets in the process. Vishal Sharma top-scored with 40. At one stage, Eaglets were struggling at 88 for 8 in 24 overs. But a match-winning unbroken eighth wicket stand between Manit Jauhar and Ravi Yadav steered the team to victory.

Vikas Choudhary was named the Raman Lamba man of the match.’ On Monday, Sahara India will take on Bright Club.

Brief Scores: Minda Group: 117 all out in 31.3 overs (Anuj Deewan 32, Sanjeev Sharma 20, Vikas Choudhary 4 for 24, Manit Jauhar 2 for 27, Bantu Singh 1 for 6) lost to Delhi Eaglets: 120 for 7 in 35.5 overs (Vishal Sharma 40, Sanjay Sehrawat 2 for 14, Anuj Deewan 2 for 28) by three wickets.
