NEW DELHI, June 22: It was yet another day of surprises when a bunch of seeded players fell like nine pins in the Adidas Junior Masters Tennis Tournament being played here at DLTA grounds.

In the boys under-14 section, top seed Tushar Liberhan of Chandigarh and second seed R Arun Prakash entered the quarter-finals, but the third seed Krishna Tanna was sent crashing out by Rishi Behl 6-3, 6-4.

Tushar Liberhan outclassed Divij Sharan of Delhi 6-0, 6-1 while R Arun Prakash eliminated Rupesh Roy 6-1, 6-1 of West Bengal in the pre-quarterfinal round today.

Apart from Krishna Tanna, another seed, the fifth-seeded Saurabh Kohli, also failed to advance, succumbing 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 to the unseeded Vikram Aditya Menon.

In the girls under-14 section, top seed Sania Mirza breezed past Ormila Ram 6-0, 6-2. Second seed Sandra Shashidharan also entered the quarter-finals getting the better of unseeded M Kamini 6-3, 7-5.

As for the upsets in this section, the fifth-seeded Deepa Chakravarthy of Gujrat was eliminated by unseeded Sanaa Bhambri 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 while seventh seed Krushmi Chadda went down K Bhat 7-5, 6-3. The eighth-seeded Nivedita Venkatesh was also sent packing by Martuha Devi 6-1, 6-1.
