NEW DELHI, JANUARY 21: A stroke-filled 136 (10×4, 1×6, 135 balls) by former Delhi/Services Ranji Trophy wicketkeeper-batsman Rajeev Vinayak and a useful 62 by Satpal Rawat enabled Central warehousing Corporation (CWC) crush Minda XI by a huge margin of 190 runs in the ninth BDM Challenge Cup at Ramjas sports complex here today.

Electing to bat first, CWC scored 273 for loss of five wickets in their stipulated 45 overs. Rajeev Vinayak and Satpal Rawat made a flying start, putting on 161 runs in 173 deliveries that shattered the Minda XI bowling. Sanjay Seharawat claimed 2 for 27 for Minda XI.

In reply, Minda XI were never in the match as they lost wickets at frequent intervals to be shot out for a meagre 83 in 26.3 overs. Deepak Saini (22) and Pawan (25 not out) were the only batsmen to resist the accurate and penetrative CWC attack. Naresh Khanna (4 for 24), Mayur Vohra (2 for 9) and Ashwani Anand (2 for 14) shared the spoils.

Rajeev Vinayak received the man of the match award, instituted in memory of former India and Delhi opening batsman Raman Lamba.
