Actor Vivek Oberoi, who underwent an operation for a leg fracture yesterday, has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of Hinduja Hospital here after he complained of pain in his foot late last night.

Dr Sanjay Agarwala, the surgeon who operated on Vivek, said today the actor had been shifted to the ICU to keep him away from the steady flow of visitors and to ensure he was more comfortable.

‘‘He has been isolated and kept in the ICU for more comfort and to keep him under medical observation. There is no serious concern regarding his health,’’ Agarwala said.

‘‘Vivek is progressing well. We expect him to stand up in a day or two with the help of crutches,’’ he said. Pointing out that the actor suffered pain, he said it decreased after he was put on pain killers.

Meanwhile, director Mani Ratnam resumed shooting on the Vidyasagar Setu on Friday, two days after Vivek Oberoi broke a leg and the film-maker himself fainted when a stunt scene went wrong.
