Waiting list for STD PCO connections to be cleared

CHANDIGARH, Feb 15: The Department of Telecommunication has decided to clear the entire waiting list of STD PCOs in the ChandigarhTelecom Circle, except in the Mullanpur and Zirakpur exchanges, where the exchange capacity is not available.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the STD PCO Allotment Committee, which met today under the chairmanship of Principal General Manager Telecom Prithipal Singh.

The allotment letters for all the pending PCO applicants would be issued soon and DoT has asked the applicants to clear the formalities within 30 days of receiving the allotment letter, failing which their allotments would be cancelled.

After implementation of today’s decision, the STD PCO connections in the city, S.A.S. Nagar and Panchkula would be made on demand. Till today’s decision, over 500 STD PCO telephone connections were pending in the waiting list of the Chandigarh Telecom Circle.
