The political battle between Bihar’s JD(U)-BJP Government and the Opposition RJD has entered bureaucratic domains. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has decided to clip Lalu’s wings by weaning away his prized OSD Sudhir Kumar, who has successfully managed Lalu’s image makeover.

Pleading that Bihar needed efficient officers in the state, Nitish has written to the Centre requesting that the Railways Ministry official be sent back to his parent Bihar cadre. Besides, the state Government has also requested the Centre to repatriate another state official—the PS of Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, another leader critical of Nitish Kumar. The surprise? There is no such request for the PS to yet another minister from Bihar, Ram Vilas Paswan.
