New Delhi: The sports fraternity of the Capital gave a warm send-off TO oM Parkash Malhotra, Director (Physical), PGDAV College, who retired after serving 30 years in the organisation.The college has produced several outstanding sportsmen under the guidance of Malhotra and included Manoj Prabhakar, Raman Lamba, Ajay Sharma, Atul Wassan, Sanjeev Sharma, Randhir Singh, K P Bhaskar, Bantu Singh, Manu Nayar (cricket), Tarun Roy, Jagdish Malhotra, Santosh Kashyap, G Barnard, Arun Roy and Laxman Singh (football), Ram Kumar, Ranjit Singh, Yadvinder Singh, Arun Dogra, Surjit Singh (athletics).Himself a good football player, Malhotra played for Frontier Club for 20 years in the local senior division league and represented India against Iran Services and Sri Lanka in 1956. He also toured Pakistan in 1954 and 1956 with the Delhi team.A large number of sports officials from DDCA and DSA attended the farewell function today in honour of O P Malhotra.
